Carlyn Wisherop is a fourth-year student at UCLA studying microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics. She discovered her love and passion for teaching when she started instructing CPR and First Aid in her first year; she then picked up private tutoring, group workout instruction, and university physics assistance in her second year, teaching STEM pedagogy in her third year, and facilitation of anti-racism seminars in her fourth. Other areas of interest to Carlyn are in researching our two of our innate immune system's anti-viral proteins, ZAP and TRIM25, under the guidance of Dr. Melody Li and in serving as the Director of Health and Wellness for the Empower to Change political action committee.
Outside of the work-sphere, Carlyn loves spending time outdoors, with her friends and family, and in front of her computer creating Spotify playlists. She absolutely loves learning with and collaborating with a broad range of experiences and perspectives, and looks forward to class sessions with her students!
